The Bluetooth issues that plagued many M1 Mac users may be a thing of the past.

Apple has released macOS Big Sur 11.2, an update which brings several fixes and improvements. Per the company's release notes, the update "improves Bluetooth reliability," and though no further details are offered, it probably refers to the reported Bluetooth issues that some M1 Mac owners were having.

These included not being able to connect to some peripherals, as well as being randomly disconnected from Bluetooth devices. In early January, Apple said a fix was on the way.

Big Sur 11.2 also fixes an issue in which external displays may have shown a black screen when connected to a M1 Mac mini using an HDMI to DVI converter.

Other fixes, per Apple's release notes:

  • Edits to Apple ProRAW photos in the Photos app may not save

  • iCloud Drive could turn off after disabling the iCloud Drive Desktop & Documents Folders option

  • System Preferences may not unlock when entering your administrator password

  • Globe key may not display the Emoji & Symbols pane when pressed
