Simone Giertz, like many of us, is spending quarantine by working on her passion projects.
For the YouTuber and inventor, that project happens to be a photo booth for her dog.
Dubbed the "Queen of Shitty Robots," Simone Giertz is known for her innovative, but less than useful technical creations. Her work includes an alarm clock that slaps her awake, a Tesla hacked into a pickup truck, and most recently, a photo booth that Pavlov'd her dog into taking selfies built completely out of Legos.

It's freaking adorable.
Giertz used Lego bricks to build the structure and a Lego Mindstorms set (their line of programmable robots) for the mechanics. She attached a pedal and circuit board to a treat dispenser and camera. Pressing down on the pedal triggers both — a mechanism that took a lot of finagling to get right, Giertz explained. Figuring out how to program both the camera trigger and the treat trigger resulted in some delightful unintentional selfies.
"She gets a treat, I get a photo, everyone's happy," Giertz said in the video.
The result: An adorable series of photos of Scraps. Giertz also programmed a robot dog to take pictures of itself as well, which Scraps did not seem to appreciate.
"I could have futzed forever with this project because I had so much fun with it," Giertz concluded.
More dog pictures are always welcome.
